Raven was perched high up in a park tree. The moon's silver rays peeking through the leaves and making Raven's fur glisten. Her golden eyes scanned the skies and the other trees, her mouth parted to keep look out for the scent that she searched for every night, ears perked in hope to catch a faint caw of the bird she knew. Of the bird that saved her that night when she was a kit. "Oh, my sacred bird," she sighed. "Do you wish not to come to your pupil, or wish not for me to be waiting for you? Do you wish for me to turn my full purpose to my Clan, and leave you? Why have you not come? Is this another lesson you want to teach? What life lesson shall I learn from you tonight, my dearest Life Mark?" Lately she had been receiving these dreams, odd dreams. Of cats that she had never seen before. Of journeys and adventures. Possibly these could not be from the Afterlife, for also in them, large shadows of her "Life Mark", the raven, has been shadowing her paw steps, and guiding her in her dreams to landscapes beyond the city. She drew her ears back as she thought hard about these dreams, "Is it a sign that you are coming? Is it a sign that we will finally reunite after all this time?" she mewed quietly into the night air. "After all, I have been waiting for you."

Walking as silent as she can, a calico she-cat with long hair came to the park. She didn't know what made her came here exactly, but she wanted to think. She found a comfortable spot to lay down in. As she lay there, she turned her green eyes to the sky. The moon shone brightly through a small think cloud. Sighing she looked at her paws. Lucky knew why she came here. She was frightened. There are traitors in the clan She thought to herself. And i can't fight for myself. She looked hopelessly at the sky again. Oh Afterlife, please help me! She pleaded.

Raven parted her mouth again, and this time, picked up a new scent. The scent was of BloodClan, and she unsheathed and sheathed her claws nervously. She was always cautious when other cats were around when she was in search of her "Life Mark". Especially if they were BloodClan cats. Raven climbed down the trunk of the tree and kept to the shadows. She saw that it was Lucky, and she knew that the young she-cat was still stirred from Night's announcement of traitors living within the Clan. She sighed. Lucky might just be able to see her leave the tree. After all, one of those tall Twoleg fire trees were right by the leafy one she was hiding in. Her neck fur bristled when she realized that she must go against one of the raven's teachings. Truth brings trust. Lie first, the truth will still come, but beware of new enemies.

Hearing a noise Lucky's head snapped to her surroundings. Her eyes filled with worry and she stood up. She picked up the faint smell of Bloodclan, but she didn't recognize which cat it was. She knew it wasn't Swift, or Night, the only cats she has talked to, and the only cats she could trust right now. "Wh-who's there?" She called out nervously.

Raven stepped out of the shadows, her golden eyes scanning over the she-cat. "It is Raven." There was a tone of a gentle wisdom in her voice, though she certainly did not feel at all wise at this moment. She did not know much about Lucky, but the fear-scent that radiated from her told Raven that she was standing on edge. "It is alright, you don't have to be afraid around me. You should know that." She padded closer to Lucky. "What are you doing out so late anyway?"

Letting hr fur lie flat, Lucky relaxed. "Oh, I was just out here to think." Looking at Rave, she realized she doesn't know much about Raven, but Raven didn't look like she wanted to attack. "What are you doing out, out here so late?"

Raven looked away, her ears pulled back, "I couldn't sleep, so I wanted to take a walk." she lied, afraid that if she told the truth Lucky might just consider her as a traitor, a cat that was not loyal at all to BloodClan. Would I be considered a traitor? she thought, glancing back at the tree she had been in earlier. Raven turned her head back around and looked at Lucky. "Anyway, what's troubling you? Maybe I can help."

"Its, its" Lucky turned away from Raven. "Its nothing." She told the she-cat. Lucky was still unsure if she can fully trust this cat, or if this cat was a traitor. But until she was sure, Lucky didn't want to poor out all her problems to Raven.

"I understand." Raven sighed. She sat next to Lucky, staring up at the moon, once again in search for her "Life Mark". She was beginning to get doubtful, but still she waits for it. "What do you do," she began. "When you dedicate your life waiting for something, hoping and wishing with all your might that you and that something you've been waiting for reunites, but moons later it doesn't show. You don't even know if it will ever show again, and there's a very tiny sliver of a chance you will ever reunite. Would you still wait, and still hope it comes, or will you realize it will never come for you?" she asked.

"My- my sister and parents have died, and my other sister is either missing or dead." Lucky didn't realize she was talking out loud. "I want to believe my sister is alive, that one day, we would meet again. But, but, I'm not sure that will happen." She fell silent as she silently mourned over her family's death.

Raven blinked and turned her head to look at Lucky. "I-I'm so sorry," she then pressed her muzzle against the side of the she-cat's head. "But I know she will return. The spirits of the Afterlife can't keep kin away from each other forever." she purred comfortingly. She licked Lucky's ear in comfort before pulling away.

Realizing she spoke out loud, Lucky looked at Raven and blinked her green eyes. "They, they don't know what the Afterlife is, I was a kittypet." She told the cat, and flicked an ear.

"Just because a cat does not know what the Afterlife is doesn't mean that our ancestors are not watching over them. And weren't we all either kittypets and loners at some point?" Raven sighed. She looked up at the moon once again. "Hopefully we'll both find the things we are looking for."

"What are you looking for?" Lucky asked, looking at Raven curiously. To Lucky, Raven's life seemed possibly perfect, and she didn't seem like she ran in to cats that wanted to kill her. But, Lucky could be wrong.

"My Life Mark," Raven replied. She bowed her head, "It had saved me when I was a young kit. I have learned from it, and now I am waiting for the day until it has taught me everything and we will unite. It is my teacher, and though I am loya-" she cut herself off. She could not explain everything to Lucky. She would be accused of treachery and be exiled from the Clan. She turned her head away, "I am forever grateful to my Life Mark. It has saved me and it is still teaching me even now. It has helped me grown stronger within its absence, I am no longer the little kit that I was but now a more wiser and stronger thanks to it and the Clan." her voice faltered as she said that last part. That in itself could make Lucky accuse her of disloyalty.
