Night scooped the remnants of some chicken out of a fallen trash-can, her single eye glittering. Her announcement was still fresh upon her mind, like a tumor. She knew there were traitors among them, but if she only knew who...
Sighing, Night began to help herself to the food she had found. Her ears twitched though, as if she were expecting someone, anyone.

Crawling out from behind some garbage cans, a white tom walked over to Night. He sat behind her and just stared for a moment, before saying "Hello Night." He walked over to the spot next to her. Sitting down Ash looked over at Night, his beloved mate.

Night looked at him and forced a smile. "Hi, Ash," she mewed. "How are you doing?"
The black she-cat silently toyed with her chicken bones. Her ears were directed forward, her single eye staring down at the bones.

"I'm good, how are you Night?" He asked. Ash saw her forced smile, and knew something was up. He felt like adding, What's wrong? But decided against it.

Night shrugged casually. "Could be better." She drew her tongue over her lips and twitched her whiskers.

"Why? Whats wrong?" He asked, then, decided he may shouldn't have said it. But now it was said, and Ash can't take it back.

A ghost of a smile appeared upon Night's muzzle. "Nothing to be concerned about, Ash," she meowed. "Just deep in thought."

"Okay," Ash looked worriedly at his mate. "just know that I'm here if you need me." The white tom smiled at Night and hoped that she would talk to him about what was worrying her. But he wouldn't ask her to if she didn't want to voice her worries.
