Night's reinforced claws clicked against the cold pavement as she paced quickly about. Night's tail was lashing wildly with stress as she turned over her situation.
Got to tell him, she thought. Got to tell him how I feel/ But what if this is too sudden?! What if he doesn't like me?

Ash padded along the cold pavement up to Night. He often visited her, acting like they were just friends but really he just wanted to see her. He admired Night but never admitted it to anyone. Nobody knew. Maybe cats suspected but Ash hoped nobody did. He didn't think Night liked him like he liked her.
"Hello Night!" Ash greeted happily as he walked up to the she-cat.

"Oh, hello, Ash," Night meowed, hoping that her fear was hidden. "L-Listen, there's something I have to say to you..." Night's white paws flexed with uncertainty.

"Yah." Ash looked concerned. Night seemed... scared. Why would Night be scared? He thought to himself. She has a lot of cats that would die to save her.

Ash felt like he knew what Night was going to say. Before she finished her sentence he blurted out. "I love you!" Then shut his mouth. How can I inturupt her in the middle of her sentence? What's wrong with me? He thought to himself.

Night was shocked at Ash, one because he took the words right out of her mouth and two he actually said it.
"You," she stammered, "you... Feel that way?" With a rare smile, she exclaimed, "I-I love you, too!"

Ash smiled. She loves me, she...she loves me! He thought excitedly to himself. Running up to Night he (however cats hug) her. He had no wrods to say right now.
