Dusk padded in a slowly widening circle, his eyes far away. Lost in thoughts of nothing, the tom wouldn't notice anything was there until it leaped upon him. He would grasp a thought and it would vanish, like early morning fog dying in the sun's rays. The large dusky red tom lashed his tail as a thought- which he Brassumed might have been rather important- crumbled to fragments. This happened often, though most the time he was thinking about his unspoken emotions or thoughts. So many things he wanted to say, but knew it was better to remain silent. His front right re-enforced claws scraped a stone and the fur along his spine stood on end. His eyes flashed and he continued wandering in his ever-growing circle.

A lone she-cat watched humorously from a near-by bench, tail swaying slowly. Her silvery eyes watched as the cat paced in a Circle, and after a moment of thought, swiftly made her way down from the elevated surface and touched the cat on the shoulder with her long tail, "Well, somebody seems deep in thought," She teased, sitting down in the path of the reddish tom. Her coat gleamed with the silvery sheen that it always did, and her pupils were mere slits, like they usually were. Her tail curled around her paws, and she had a sly smile on her muzzle, as if she knew something she wasn't supposed to.

Surprised, Dusk would have jumped out of his pelt had it not been for his amazing self-control. Saying nothing, the tom's eyes revealed his thoughts. What do you want? they asked. His shoulders twitched as he examined the she-cat. He already didn't like her. The way she watched him made his skin crawl. Who is she to tease me as though I am a kit? He wondered, thoughts still portrayed through his sunset eyes.

She got the message, and let out a little chuckle, "I suppose i'd be slightly concerned if one of my clanmates was walking a circle into the ground." Her voice came out slightly rough, as she didn't really use it as often as she could. Shadow tilted her head slightly, a light grin forming on her features, although that mischevious gleam was still in her eyes. "Am I not allowed to show concern?"her whiskers twitches, and she sat silently in her spot, teeth gleaming off of her silvery collar.

Deciding he might as well speak, he began to reply, but his voice came as a hoarse hiss. Clearing his throat, he tried again. "I'm fine." he rasped. "Why do you care?" there was only the slightest hint of venom to his voice, but mostly curiosity. He tiled his head to one side and ceased his walking in circles.

"Well, I honestly wouldn't know." the she-cat stretched and rose from her spot on the ground, and back to the bench in which she was on before. Her claws glinted in the moonlight, the tips just barely unsheathed. "But wouldn't any cat wonder what in the world you were doing drilling a hole into it? Curiosity is second nature, you know," she meowed, not exactly trying to be heard, mumbling more to herself. She laid down, licking a jet-black paw and running it over her muzzle. "But if you must, please continue. It's amusing, in the very least." She laid her head on her paws, and she looked expectantly at the cat in front of her.

The tom's fur bristled in indignation. "And you think I would do anything just to amuse you?" He snarled, but all the same, he slipped back to his thoughts. Instead of walking in circles, he paced back and forth. Occasionally, he would glance up with a good-humored look in his vibrant eyes. She was his clan-mate after all. This time, his thoughts were less muddled and easier to hold. Yet, he decided just to pace and look at the she-cat every now and then.

She chuckled again, "Not exactly, no." An amused cleam held her silver eyes, she watched the tom look at her every few moments. Shadow's tail was hanging off the edge of the seat, and swayed constantly, curling at the tip, then folding over and curling to the other side. The she-cat closed her eyes and let pout a purr of amusement before staying silent, content on just listening to the world around her for the moment.

Finished with his pointless pacing, the dusky-furred tom padded over to where Shadow lay and leaped onto the back of the bench. "What brought you wandering here?" he asked in his quiet, raspy voice. With bright eyes flashing, he took a closer study of where he had been walking in circles. Can you really see where I was walking? he wondered.

"It's nice to try and find pease and quiet sometimes, when you'd rather not be a blood-thirsty killer," she snorted quietly, claws scratching lightly on the wooden surface she was laying on. Her eyes stared off into the distance, glowing a chrome-silver in the light. She paused for a moment, as if her eyes caught something, before she subtly shook her head. "What brought you here?" she repeated the inquiry, turning her gaze to the tom-cat.

"Sometimes I need to get away to think." Dusk replied quietly. Smiling, he thought- though I wasn't doing much of that. Flicking the tip of his tail, he watched a bird soar overhead. Sighing, Dusk closed his eyes for a moment before returning them to the other cat. He let his claws slide out for an instant before retracting them.
