Night shut her eye as the gentle wind of the night coursed through her fur and sent a sweet lullaby into her ears. Her ears twitched. The weights on her shoulders seemed to lift for a minute, the cold ice in her veins seemed to melt, and she felt an overwhelming sense of security.
It had been a while since she had felt like this. So at ease, so wonderful. Her fur glistened brightly in the moonlight.

Ash walked up behind his beloved Night. She looked peaceful, better than he had seen her from the past few days. Less stressed. "Hello." Ash meowed.

Night turned to Ash. She blinked at him.
"Oh," she mewed. "Good evening, Ash." She beckoned him over to sit beside her. "Couldn't sleep?" She folded her tail over her paws.

"No, not really." Ash was about to bring up Nights earlier announcement about traitors, and that he couldn't sleep because of it. But, he didn't want to make her stressed again. Instead he walked over a sat by her.

Night felt the heat of Ash's body against her skin. She felt so close, so warm, so at ease. She gave him a rare smile, and went on.
"Did you just follow me out here or is this just a coincidence?" She purred.

"Well, i may have, sort of, followed you out here." Laughing a little, Ash looked at her. "But only to be with you." He added. He started to purr, happy to be out here.

Night smiled sweetly at him. "Well," she mewed, "I'm glad you came out here with me."
She pressed her black body to his white one, enjoying his comforting presence.

Ash licked her ear. It was nice to just sit out here peacefully. He closed his eyes, wishing he could stay like this forever.
